Coach Erika Playing for Cal Poly Pomona
Erika Prado began her professional soccer career playing with Pali Blues participating in the United Soccer League (USL W-League) in 2008. During her time with Pali Blues, she led the team to win the 2008 Western Conference Championship and the USL Championship.
After departing Pali Blues at the end of the season, Prado signed with FC Indiana for the 2009 season. She made immediate contribution with FC Indiana and helped the W-USL side to win the 2009 Midwest Division Championship.
Her consistent performance with the USL teams eventually allowed her to gain a professional contract with Russian side, FC Energy, in 2011. During her time with the Russian power club, Prado participated in the 2011-12 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Prior to her professional soccer career, Prado has played at the collegiate level on a full scholarship for the California State University, Los Angeles. She was selected the Eagles’ Most Valuable Player for the 2006. She also led the team in assist, becoming the first player in school history to reach a single-season and all-time assist record.
As a youth player, Prado was also selected to participate in the US Olympic Development Program (ODP) for three years. Then at age 19, she also gained a trial with the Women’s Mexican National Team for two years.
During her playing career, Prado was coached by a myriad of well-known soccer coaches such as Cherif Zein, Clint Greenwood, Ali Khosroshahin, Alex Camargo, Mauricio Ingrassia, and among others. She has also played against top teams in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Egypt, Australia and England.
Prado holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with emphasis in Physical Education and a certified personal trainer through NFPT.
